Sanyaolu Vs Olusanya?

I love the name Sanyaolu simply because its a mouthful....and maybe because i had a crush on a guy Sanya in high school
ahh, he was tall, dark and sergsay (sexy)

I prefer Sanyaolu to Olusanya.

Olu * (re mi) is short for Oluwa (re mi re), which means God
Sanya* (do do) is short for San Iya, San means "To relieve" and Iya means "Pain"

So, Sanyaolu(wa) means "Relieve the pain oh God", i guess if a woman gives birth during rough times she can as God to relieve her of her pain.

Olusanya on the other hand means "God releieved our pain", people usually name their babies, Olusanya after going through rough times.

I dont plan on having any difficult times but i like the name all the same.

Incase you are wondering what those (do re mi) stand for:
*Make the piano sound "mi re mi" then pronounce the word "ee mee see"
**Make the piano sound "do mi mi" then pronounce the word "ee mee see"

Imisi - Oluwa

The first time i heard the name, i was like "what the hell kinda name is that!?" It was my best friends-sisters-friends name. I couldn't stand the name because she was always talking about the girl. So one day i told my friend that the name irritates me - and that where is the girl from. She told me it was a Yoruba name. (I'm Yoruba by the way).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Me: "Thats impossible! ..It dosen't even sound like anything i've heard before"
Friend: "IMISI!" *(mi re mi)
She repeated loudly, emphasizing the "ami ohun" (pronunciation signs).
Me: "Ok!"
I snapped.
Me: "What does it mean?"
Friend: "It means breath"
Me: "Oh! I get it, IMISI** (do mi mi)"
I corrected her.
Me: "..Soooo.. her name is just breath?"
Friend: "Its IMISI-OLUWA (do mi mi - re mi re) or something"
she added.
Me: "breath of God!, wow what a powerful name!, i guess its not such a bad name if you pronounce it correctly, i really like it, its so refreshing!"
Friend: Whatever
Also! look what i found:
According to a tribe of Native Americans known as Creeks, IMISI also means Breath
"Hisagita-imisi (meaning "preserver of breath"; also Hisakitaimisi) was the supreme god, a solar deity. He is also called Ibofanga ("the one who is sitting above (us)")."
